Three
dimensional abstract presentations using mixed media

I decided
about a year ago that I wanted to paint on three
dimensional canvas. Since there were none, I decided to
create my own.
Creating the 3-D Canvas
I dip raw
canvas into a mixture of gesso and water until it is
soft and pliable. The canvas is now arranged onto a wood
panel until it looks interesting. Then it is allowed to
dry overnight.

The 3-D
surface has now hardened into a the shape that was
created while it was soft and wet. It is now ready to be
embellished or adorned using any materials that are
usually used on regular flat stretched canvases.
It will become what it needs to become.
The
four sided hanging hardware on the back will allow the picture to
be hung in any and all directions to suit one's mood.
